The Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety released the 2007 Workplace Safety Index which identifies the leading causes of the most disabling U.S. workplace injuries (based on 2005 data).
The Top 10 Causes of the Most Disabling Work Place Injuries are:
- Overexertion
- Fall on the same level
- Fall to lower level
- Slip and Trip without Falling
- Struck by Object
- Highway Accidents
- Repetitive motion injuries
- Struck Against Object
- Caught in or Compressed by Machinery
- Assaults/violent acts by others
